Privacy notice

Who is responsible. L'areau, Wächterhofstraße 50, 85521 Hohenbrunn, Germany. Email: hello@wearlareau.com.

What we collect and why. Your email address, so we can send you our newsletter: news about our launch and our products. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Giving us your email address is voluntary; without it we can't send you the newsletter.

Confirmation. After you sign up, we send you an email asking you to confirm. You are only added once you confirm. To be able to prove your consent, we record the time of sign-up and confirmation and the IP address used (Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR).

Spam protection. The form is protected by hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc., USA), which checks whether the sign-up comes from a person. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the form from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who processes your data for us. Our shop and our emails run on Shopify (Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland), which processes your data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to Canada, which has an EU adequacy decision, and to the USA, safeguarded by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses. Our emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked, so we can improve them.

How long we keep it. Until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent. After that we keep the record of your consent for up to three years, in case we need to prove it, and then delete it.

Your rights. You can ask us for access to your data, and have it corrected, erased or restricted, or transferred to you (Art. 15–18 and 20 GDPR). You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR), and you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR), by using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making.
